Mikaela and Ron Rios, owners of Imagine Gurus, discuss their expertise in home-related services. Imagine Gurus offers everything from home staging and redesign, to professional organizing, to virtual tours and photography, and 3-D renderings.
Tell us about Imagine Gurus. How long have you been in the business? What inspired you to establish Imagine Gurus? Imagine Gurus is a home-related business offering 3-D rendering, home staging, redesign, photography and virtual tours, and professional organization services. We are experts, or gurus, who help our clients imagine the possibilities, hence the name “Imagine Gurus.” While we established Imagine Gurus in Texas in February 2015, I have been in the home staging and organizing business for the past nine years, but in other parts of the United States. My husband, Ron, brought the 3-D rendering aspect into the business more recently, when we saw how it eased the process of home design. While building our own home, we realized that seeing a 3-D rendering of the home during the design phase helps avoid costly mistakes in the end product.
Can you share a little bit about the staging process and work that you do for your clients? How does this help them make their home more valuable when putting it on the market? First I do a consultation, which entails a thorough walk-through of my client’s home and the creation of a to-do list (which I call a “profit list”) to prepare their home for the market. I also offer them options for furniture and décor rental, as needed, as well as my expertise in completely staging the home for them. In this day and age of HGTV, Pinterest, and Houzz, buyers’ expectations are drastically different than they were just five years ago. Therefore, it’s imperative to stage a home, and a professional stager knows how to create the appeal which will entice the buyer, leading to shorter time on the market and, often, a higher offer price.
What other ways do you see your clients using your 3-D rendering options when they are buying a new home? Often it is very difficult for people to imagine what a space will look like from a drawing. However, 3-D rendering technology allows our clients to truly visualize their space and home. The technology and software we work with creates life-like visualizations, allowing our clients to get a feel for what their home will look like. Not only can this technology be used with new construction or remodeling, but we can also virtually stage a vacant home to allow potential buyers to see what the home would look like furnished.
What do you love most about your business? I love that my husband and I get to work together to simplify our clients’ lives. We are passionate about what we do and we work hard to ensure our clients expectations are not just met, but surpassed.
