Not unless “bait and switch” seem like a good marketing plan.
The idea of staging is to elicit an emotional response from a buyer and make them “fall in love” with the house. If they get excited about the look of a virtually staged home online and it’s vacant when they arrive, it’s a big “let down.”
Certainly, great online photos drive foot traffic to the listing, but the buying decision is made IN the home. As buyers spend an average of only 6 minutes in an un-staged home verses 40 minutes in a Staged home, the longer they linger, the more there’s a probability of getting an offer.
